Mark Cross has it's own village primary school, St Marks CE Aided Primary School and this feeds in to the local secondary schools Uplands Community Technology College at Wadhurst and Beacon Community College (Sports specialism) in Crowborough. There is also the Jameah Islameah Independent Muslim School for boys based in the former St Joseph's College on Catts Hill.

The village school is currently undergoing a major building programme providing the school with a much needed activities hall with associated facilities for sports, meetings, drama and assemblies.
